Default New member from Tulsa, OK

Hey everyone. How's it going?

I just wanted to drop in here and say hello, as I'm a new member to this site.

A bit about myself; I'm originally from NY. Born in the Bronx, raised in Manhattan. I've been into cars since I was seven years old.
In 2003 I came to Tulsa, OK to follow my Christian faith, and go to Bible School. After attending two schools, I'm still here. I now handle the security needs of two churches in the Tulsa and Broken Arrow areas.

I'm now on my fourth late-model HEMI car since '07 (I've had three SRT8 Chargers previously. One '07, and two '08s. Very long story to say the least. ). My current HEMI ride, which I plan on having for a long time, is an '09 SRT8 Challenger. It's my daily driver. I have a small pile of mods waiting to go on, which I hope to get to soon. I bought the car back in the end of March, off the original owner, who's out of OKC. It's got every option, including a 6-speed. I bought it with 9400 miles on it. It now has 11,700 miles. Needless to say I do enjoy driving it. A LOT.

Sitting next to my Challenger is a '71 GTO that is in "driver" condition, but is a work in progress. It was a 400 car, but now packs 462-inches of Poncho power, complete with H.O. "Round-Port" heads. I know it's not a Mopar, but I'm a fan of all cars, though very strong into Mopars and GMs. Besides, my GTO cost a 1/3 of what another '68 R/T Charger would cost me.

Some of the cars I've owned over the years include; '71 Challenger R/T, Two '68 Charger R/Ts equipped with 440s, 4-speeds and 3.54-geared Dana 60 rears, '70 Sublime GTX with a 440-4bbl, Air Grabber, 727, and 4.10 Dana 60, '70 RA III, 4-speed GTO, '72 GTO, 11-second 89 Turbo Trans Am, 10-second '98 Camaro SS, as well as many others in my 40 years of existence.

I'm including some quick pics of my Challenger taken at work one evening. Please forgive the somewhat poor quality of the pics. It was an old digital camera, and I was in a rush regarding the angles and light.

I'm a member of a good number of other forums, especially LX-based ones, with the same screen name. So I'm sure I'll recognize some of your screen names here, as well as some of you recognizing mine. This seems like a good site, so I figured I'd join this one, too.

Take Care, and God Bless..
Abe

Welcome!

don't be so hard on yourself...pics are great. I too have had my share of Mopars, also including a '71 Challenger R/T. mine was Tored with a 340 and a SlapStick. nice car.

I drop in on a few other car forums too with the same name, so maybe we'll cross paths again.

again, Welcome to SRTV8!

Thanks for the welcome, navy48. That R/T you had sounds real nice. Mine was HEMI Orange, and was a 383/727 car. But, needed a lot of work..

On a side note. I saw a thread on this site about a trunk liner for the Challengers. In that thread, you offered your services to get them at a discounted price? Is that correct? I was going to PM you, but I can't do that until I have at least 5 posts, I see...

Welcome to the forum. Great car, love the TorRed color. I use to live in BA before I moved to NC. Wish I was still there from time to time.

Hey LoneStar, thanks!

So, when did you move to NC from BA? I have friends in High Point, NC I like to visit from time to time. Might even be doing so in the next month, or so.

From a FOUR MAGNUM family in North Carolina. I, too, am originally from upstate NY and transferred with IBM to NC. Great looking Challenger! I am also a fan of most any type car... have 23 at present! Have owned over 300 cars, including 69 Stingray, GTO, chevelles, camaros and many, many more! You may have SEEN one of my current cars... it's a 1989 Pontiac Gran Prix McLean Turbo ~ This was the actual pace car used in the movie "DAYS OF THUNDER" filmed at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. It currently has 7,100 miles and sits in the garage under cover!

Glad you joined up ~ Great folks on THIS FORUM!!!
