Seven Mopars named “most loved”

February 16th, 2014
by David Zatz

Survey group Strategic Vision has named seven Chrysler Group LLC vehicles as its “Most Loved Vehicles in America:”

• Dodge Dart (Small Car)
• Dodge Durango (Mid-size SUV)
Dodge Charger (Large Car)
Dodge Challenger (Specialty Coupe)
• Jeep® Grand Cherokee (Mid-size SUV)
• Ram 1500 (Full-size Pickup)
• Ram 2500 and 3500 (Heavy Duty Pickup)

Car buyers were asked how much they liked their vehicles, including particular aspects of them. The index was “Hate it, Failure, Unsatisfactory, Satisfactory, Excellent, Delightful, and Love It.” Scores are calculated including attributes of the car, the dealership experiences, commitment, overall satisfaction, total top emotional responses, proposed repurchase loyalty, and actual repurchase loyalty, to provide a Most Loved Index™. The company claims that higher love scores lead to higher buyer loyalty.

The Tesla Model S captured the “most loved” score overall. There were 39 vehicles receiving awards; in some categories, a single car was given the award, and in others, up to three made it (since four points were needed for a significant difference, when cars were less than four points apart, they were both listed as a tie.)

Dart tied with Sentra for small car; Ram 2500/3500 with Ford F250/350; and Grand Cherokee and Durango with Ford Explorer.

Nissan/Infiniti and Hyundai each captured five slots; Toyota/Lexus, four; General Motors and Ford each captured three slots; Honda and Volkswagen, two; BMW/Mini, four (two for BMW, two for Mini).
