Default Fiat, Dart make “Coolest Cars” list

While these are not SRTs, they could perhaps make for a fun second car….

Fiat, Dart make “Coolest Cars” list
June 27th, 2014
by Bill Cawthon

The Fiat 500 and Dodge Dart are cool. They’re also affordable. So say the editors of Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com in naming the two to 2014′s list of the 10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000.

The Fiat 500 placed sixth on the list, followed by the Dart in seventh place.Chrysler Group was the only automaker to place more than one vehicle on the list and the Dart was the top-ranked American-brand car, coming in ahead of the Ford Fiesta and Chevrolet Sonic.

This is the eleventh year for the list, which is based primarily on two criteria: the vehicles are fun to drive and fun to own. They also have what kbb.com editors freely admit is a very subjective “cool factor.”

“Low-priced new cars are getting cooler with each passing year and the mass-appeal, bread-and-butter small cars are becoming increasingly stylish and tech-savvy,” said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com.

Each vehicle on the list can be purchased for $18,000 or less, according to Kelley Blue Book’s market-based Fair Purchase Price, which shows the price paid by other buyers.
